Welcome to the inaugural 2020 VVSS End of Year VIRTUAL Art Exhibition. The exhibition is curated on our school grounds in the Visual Art Exhibition Gallery and features over 300 pieces of artwork, in varied medium completed by students from Year 8 to Year 12. It also celebrates the successes of our SACE Year 11 and 12 cohort.
After a difficult year due to COVID, we are proud to host this event which is a celebration of our creative students throughout the year. Our official opening night had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. It was disappointing, but as you can see by the artwork, we still have a special exhibition online. With the students from Home Economics still designing, creating and presenting an assortment of package foods for an exhibition and or event that met COVID-19 guidelines…
The exhibition is officially opened by our guest of honour, visual artist Sonya Unwin. Her opening speech is also part of this online exhibition (see video below). Proudly based in Adelaide with a studio at The Collective Haunt in Norwood. Sonya’s practice revolves around painting, with her main mediums being oils on canvas, or water colour and ink washes on paper. With a B.A Visual Arts (Honours) from UniSA, Unwin was one of the inaugural SALA Artists-in-Residence at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
This virtual gallery will be on our website for 12 months for all to enjoy.
