The Arts Curriculum at Valley View Secondary School has expanded considerably in 2018. Offering both Visual Arts and Media Arts, students have the opportunity to investigate both areas of learning. Visual Art and Media Art subjects enable students to learn how to create, design, represent, communicate and share their imagined and conceptual ideas, emotions, observations and experiences.

In the Visual Arts, students develop wide ranging techniques within the fields of art, craft and design, using an expansive range of materials, processes and technologies. And develop critical and creative thinking processes, using visual arts languages, theories and practices to apply aesthetic judgement.

In the Media Arts, Valley View students create representations of the world and tell stories through communication technologies such as television, film, video, newspapers, radio, video games, the internet and mobile media. Working both individually and collaboratively, students interpret, analyse and develop media practices through their media art making experiences.

The Valley View Arts environment offers students the chance to work within a large, open, safe learning space featuring cutting-edge, industry standard machinery and ICT hardware and software.
